Merinos Plans To Expand in U.S., Europe
Istanbul, Turkey, April 11, 2011 -- Merinos said it plans to increase the number of countries to which it exports carpets.
Merinos, a Turkish carpet manufacturer, is set to open 250 carpet and furniture stores in the U.S. and Europe in the next five years, according to a top executive.
Mahmut Erdemlioğlu, an executive board member of Merinos, told Anatolia news agency on Monday that the firm's exports to 65 countries including the U.S., Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Russia reached $130 million in 2010.
"We want to increase our exports to $170 million this year. We also want to export our products to new countries," he said.
