Merger of Benyon Sports, Defargo Completed
Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Sept. 9, 2008-- The merger of FieldTurf Tarkett companies Beynon Sports Surfaces and Defargo USA has been completed, the company said.
The two divisions will operate under the Beynon Sports Surfaces brand with BSS branded track and field and fieldhouse systems.
Both Beynon Sports Surfaces and Defargo USA have been involved for many years in the production and installation of the synthetic sports surfacing market.
Beynon Sports Surfaces was selected to build the Class 1 IAAF Certified track surface for the 2008 Olympic track and field trials at the University of Oregon, Hayward Field.
Defargo USA is a major installer of tracks.
With the purchase of Defargo in May 2007 and Beynon Sports Surfaces and Beynon Enterprises in 2008, FieldTurf Tarkett said it is now the largest running track provider in North America.
"The synergy of Beynon and Defargo will enable sports facilities to be able to obtain the highest quality surfacing products from the industry's largest one-stop-shop," said FieldTurf Tarkett CEO Joe Fields.
