Melrose Prefinished Hardwood Adds Jatoba

Mississauga, Ontario, May 11, 2006--Melrose Prefinished Hardwood Floors has announced the addition of Jatoba to its new line of textured hardwood flooring for the home. Considered an ‘exotic’ wood, this unique Brazilian cherry wood is noted as one of the hardest woods available today. Unlike other manufacturers whose harsh processes for distressing wood that can create uneven surfaces and pitting, Melrose uses a unique wire brush system that creates a natural texture and uniform look. The textured floor line offers a relaxed live-in look that is more elegant and modern urban rather than the traditional country look. “As more and more home owners are adopting neutral tones and clean lines in their décor, they are looking to flooring to provide an added touch of elegance and drama, without having to sacrifice the durability and easy maintenance they’ve come to expect from current hardwood and laminate flooring,” says Melrose president Frank Rosso. “Our textured rustic flooring delivers on both fronts. It not only offers a warm richness that showcases the natural grain and texture of the wood, it also has the toughest protective coating available.” All Melrose hardwood is processed with Gator Tuf a polyurethane technology which creates one of the toughest finish treatments, to ensure a durable and resilient surface that is guaranteed for 25 years. This patented process also contains an antimicrobial additive which inhibits the growth of mildew and bacteria. The Melrose Gator Tuf Titaniumized Gator Coat also guards against the yellowing of hardwood floors. Melrose’s textured hardwood products offer a combination of old-world charm and elegant sophistication that addresses the current demand for top quality, natural hardwood flooring to complement every taste--from the ultra modern to the rustic. As one of the hardest woods, Jatoba is as resilient as it is beautiful, adding a richness and depth to any décor. Melrose’s textured hardwood flooring line also includes oak, ash, maple and cherry – all of which are produced at the company’s 75,000 square foot in-house production facilities. Melrose Prefinished Hardwood Floors are sold directly to retail outlets and consumers, as well as through, interior designers and contractors.
