Median U.S. Home Sizes Continue to Shrink
Charlotte, NC, December 23, 2025-The median size of U.S. homes continues to fall, reports Truist.
“After experiencing a decline during the financial crisis, median U.S. home size rose from 2,100 square feet in 2009 to its peak of 2,500 square feet in 2015. However, the median home size has declined every year since, other than a moderate spike seen in 2022. As of the end of 2025, the median home size sits just above 2,100 square feet.”
