Cincinnati, OH, May 16--McSwain Carpets has purchased McSwain Hardwood Flooring Co. for an undisclosed amount. The combined company will operate under the McSwain Carpets name, according the Cincinnati Business Courier.
In 1960, brothers Ron and Ralph McSwain worked together in the hardwood flooring business. But in 1969, Ron left to found McSwain Carpets and went on to open stores outside Cincinnati in 1980 and 1986.
Now that the companies have joined, the Evendale McSwain Hardwood location will close May 21, according to a news release. McSwain Carpets said it will display hardwood products at its Blue Ash location and plans to remodeled other locations in the future.
