McClain Forest Products Buys Flooring Operations

West Plains, MO, July 30, 2010--McClain Forest Products, a Missouri-based dry lumber and flooring producer, said it has acquired North Pacific's Missouri and Arkansas hardwood lumber and flooring operations.

The acquisition includes three drying yards located in Van Buren, Missouri, Raymondville, Missouri, and Western Grove, Arkansas, and an office in West Plains, Missouri.

McClain Forest Products is the parent company of Ozark Mountain Hardwoods, which operated two drying concentration yards in Alton, Missouri, and Koshkonong, Missouri, and produced Ozark Mountain Hardwood brand of flooring at its Koshkonong facility.

McClain said it has unified all its locations under the name McClain Forest Products LLC, and moved its headquarters to West Plains. In addition, McClain branded all its flooring under the Springcreek Flooring trademark, including the former Ozark Mountain Hardwood brand.

The company said the merger allows McClain greater access to lumber resources and the ability to increase production significantly. McClain's combined kiln capacity is now more than 1.5 million board feet, with production volume capability of more than 40 million board feet annually.

McClain Forest Products is now one of the largest producers of kiln-dried lumber in Missouri and northern Arkansas.

President Darwin Murray heads McClain's daily operations.
