New York, NY, April 5, 2006--The outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas reported on Tuesday that there were fewer job cuts announced last month. It said the total of nearly 65,000 is down 26 percent from the previous month.
That's the lowest since April of last year.
CEO John Challenger said the numbers suggest employers are delaying downsizing where possible.
That's also good for those looking for work.
"Job hunters are becoming the hunted," said Challenger.
