Manufacturing Continues To Slow in July
Washington, DC, Aug. 1, 2012 -- U.S. manufacturing activity was essentially unchanged in July, according to the Institute for Supply Management.
The ISM index came in at 49.8% vs. 49.7% in June. Readings under 50% generally indicate that factory work is slowing.
The index, drawn from a survey of senior executives, reflects growing uncertainty about Europe, growth in China and Washington politics.
