Mannington VCT Program, Product Win Awards

Calhoun, GA, Nov. 17, 2010 -- Mannington Commercial's VCT recycling program and 25% post-consumer Premium Tile were awarded a Green Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The awards recognize designers and manufacturers for advancing innovative products.

“The idea is to emphasize the importance of sustainable design and to develop a public awareness program to the international general public about which companies are doing the best job in sustainable design for our world environments,” said Ioannis Karalias, vice president with the Chicago Athenaeum.

Mannington's VCT recycling program reclaims large quantities of VCT and recycles it into flooring products. Mannington's Premium tile also includes recycled drywall from landfills, and its total post-consumer content is unprecedented in the industry, Mannington said.
