Mannington To Intro Hard Surface Floors With Teflo

Salem, NJ, Feb. 21--Mannington Mills has made an exclusive, multi-year agreement with DuPont Fluoroproducts in which Mannington will market newly developed coatings for resilient, laminate and wood flooring products using the DuPont Teflon brand. Teflon surface protector is a durable, stain and soil repellent that keeps floors looking new longer. "We are excited to be entering into this partnership with DuPont Fluoroproducts and the Teflon brand," said Kim Holm, president of residential business for Mannington. "Teflon is one of the most trusted brands in the world, and we are enthusiastic that it will have a positive effect on the products it's in." Extensive research done independently by both DuPont and Mannington confirms that consumers are very receptive to the idea of hard surface flooring with the Teflon brand. In one survey, 66% of respondents indicated that their desire to purchase a particular floor would be "greatly" or "somewhat" improved if it had Teflon surface protector. These respondents also felt that a floor with Teflon would be easier to take care of and look new longer than a floor without it. James V. Forte, DuPont global brand manager for Teflon, said, "This partnership with Mannington is another way for consumers to realize the benefits of products with Teflon. Mannington is known for its styling leadership and innovation in hard surface flooring, and they're carrying that innovation over into the floor's performance abilities with the addition of the Teflon brand." Mannington plans to have products with the Teflon brand available beginning in April.
