Mannington Patent Covers LVT Technology
Salem, NJ, Nov. 11, 2011 -- Mannington Mills said it has secured a patent that covers PVC planks including LVT planks having a tongue and groove connection system, which has been gaining in popularity for floating flooring systems.
The patent may force other LVT producers to secure a license from Mannington
The patent, issued Sept. 20, relies on a “parent” patent with a filing date that goes back to 1999, and, therefore, was well before others in this LVT area, Mannington said.
Mannington said other companies offering LVT products similar to Mannington products that are connected to together through a tongue and groove process may infringe on Mannington's patent and will require a license from Mannington.
