Mannington Hosts 10th Annual Career Day

Mannington Township, NJ, Jun. 2--In a continuing effort to nurture the talent and aspirations of the children of Mannington associates, it was reported in Today's Sunbeam that the company hosted its 10th Annual Career Day on May 21. The theme was "Today's Vision Tomorrow's Reality." Developed to complement the "Take Your Daughters to Work" event that is held nationally, Mannington alternates between inviting "sons" and "daughters" each year--and this year's guests were daughters, girls between the ages of 12 and 16. These young women spent time in various departments at the company, participating in learning activities throughout the day. Through these workplace activities, they learned about the wealth of job opportunities available to them, experienced realities of the workplace, and got a glimpse of what the adults in their lives do during the day. They also heard presentations on career development, and enjoyed a "lunch and learn" session with their sponsoring parent. Mannington strives to be a good neighbor and responsible corporate citizen, in part by helping young people achieve their full potential in career, family, and community.
