Mannington Design Competition Drawing Big Response

Calhoun, GA, Jan. 27, 2009--Mannington Commercial's online design competition, which promises a $7,500 grand prize plus the full line production of the winning carpet, is drawing a good response, the company said.

According to Natalie Jones, vice president of commercial brand development, said, “The social networking format is a strong attraction and, in fact, about 1,200 visitors have registered on the tx:style site, with more than 150 design concepts submitted.

"What’s capturing everyone’s interest are all the comments posted along with the votes and the dialogues that are evolving. And, this is only phase one. It should heat up to be even more exciting once we name the five finalists and the online voting continues to decide the grand prize winner.”

The contest  is accepting submissions until Feb. 6. The five top-voted designs will be named finalists, and their respective designers will be hosted at Mannington’s Calhoun headquarters for a weekend seminar, where actual product samples will be tweaked and refined.

Then, in late April, Mannington will once again open the online poll for the design community to vote for its top choice. Additionally, At NeoCon 2009 in Chicago, June 15-17, the samples will be displayed in the Mannington Commercial showroom.
