Mannington Calls for 'Stand On a Better World&
Salem, NJ, March 29, 2006--Mannington Mills, a leading manufacturer of fine flooring, has announced the call for nominations for the 2006 "Stand On A Better World" Awards. Nominations are being accepted only at www.StandOnABetterWorld.com, through Aug. 31, 2006. The winners will be announced this October. The Stand On A Better World Awards recognize women who are making a positive impact in their communities. Prizes will be awarded in three categories--social, economic and environmental. One winner will be chosen in each category with a grand prize given to the top-scoring recipient. The grand-prize winner will receive $25,000, to be donated to the charity of her choice, with the other two winners receiving $10,000 each for their selected charities. Five finalists will also be awarded $1,000 for their chosen charities. The top three winners will receive all-expense-paid trips to the Stand On A Better World Awards ceremony at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia on Nov. 16, 2006. Any U.S. or Canadian citizen is eligible to be nominated and there are no age restrictions. Judges include Leeza Gibbons, television and radio news journalist and personality; Dorothy Hamill, figure-skating legend and gold medalist in the 1976 Winter Olympic Games in Innsbruck; Christine Todd Whitman, former administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and the first female governor of New Jersey; and Deborah Bell, grand-prize winner of the 2005 Stand On A Better World Awards and co-founder of Refuge International: www.StandOnABetterWorld.com
