Macy's Home Store Chairman Resigns

Cincinnati, OH, June 24--Federated Department Stores on Thursday said Macy's Home Store division chairman Eric Salus is resigning and named Timothy M. Adams to take his place, effective July 25. The company said in a statement that Salus is leaving "to pursue other interests." Adams, 51, served as chairman of Miami-based Macy's Florida unit since April 2001, and Federated has not yet named a replacement. From its New York headquarters, Macy's Home Store does the centralized buying, merchandising and marketing of home furnishings for the company's 423 stores nationwide. Federated, which also operates Bloomingdale's department stores, agreed in February to acquire rival May Department Stores Co., whose stores include Lord & Taylor, Filene's and Foley's.
