Lumber Liquidators Expands into Brooklyn
Brooklyn, NY, July 11, 2008--Lumber Liquidators, with more than 125 stores nationwide, has added another one to its roster with its first store in Brooklyn.
The company is said to be the largest specialty retailer of hardwood flooring in the U.S., specializing in high-quality brands at the lowest possible prices.
With the opening of this store the company brings its “distinctive retail concept” to the Brooklyn area, according to Tom Sullivan, founder and chairman, who said he began selling surplus wood in 1993 behind a trucking company outside of Boston.
In order to keep its prices low, Lumber Liquidators keeps its stores simple. They're scaled-down warehouses often located in non-retail, off-the-beaten-track locations.
“We’re committed to offering our customers everyday low prices on our high-quality products and we pride ourselves on keeping our overhead low as well,” he said. “That’s why you won’t see us opening stores in fancy, high-rent districts.”
The store will offer more than 150 varieties of flooring, including hardwood, bamboo, cork and laminate. The store layout is designed so that the shopper can see, feel and walk on the different types and styles.
