Lumber Liquidators Expands in Georgia

Augusta, GA, June 4, 2009--Lumber Liquidators has opened a store in Augusta, Ga., initially with two employees.

The Virginia-based chain has 150 stores nationally.

Despite the down construction market, it is still a good time to open a new store, manager Brandon Mitchell told the Augusta Chronicle.

“We’ve been affected by it like everybody else has to some degree. We don’t do a whole lot of new construction work. We tailor to home owners primarily. Home owners in today’s market can’t sell a house, might as well remodel it."

Lumber Liquidators Inc., the largest specialty retailer of hardwood flooring in the U.S., reported in May that its new income for the first quarter increased 18 percent over the first quarter of 2008.
