Nashville, TN, August 18--Louisiana-Pacific Corp. named executive vice president Richard W. Frost the lumber company's next chief executive, company officials announced.
Frost will succeed current chairman and CEO Mark A. Suwyn, who will retire effective Oct. 31. Frost also will serve as a member of Louisiana-Pacific's board of directors. Board member E. Gary Cooke will become chairman.
"The board and I have planned for this succession for several years," Suwyn said in a statement. "Rick has been a key part of a strong leadership team for the past eight years."
Frost joined Louisiana-Pacific in 1996 after more than 25 years in the forest products industry.
As vice president, Frost introduced modern plantation forestry and consolidated the company's purchasing and logistics operations, while serving as chairman of the Forest Resources Association, among other things.
