Longevity Low-Moisture Carpet Cleaner Awarded CRI

Minneapolis, MN, October 24, 2005--Inside Edge Commercial Interior Services announced today that the Longevity Low-Moisture Carpet Cleaner has earned the seal of approval by the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI). The Carpet and Rug Institute’s Seal of Approval program addresses the issue of carpet cleaning effectiveness by testing and certifying only those products that meet high performance standards. This approval program not only helps customers recognize quality products but also helps them understand the best methods for preserving the life and beauty of their carpet. Underscoring the value that carpet manufacturers place on the role of quality cleaning products, some of the largest manufacturers have announced they will require the use of CRI Seal of Approval products as part of future carpet warranties. Inside Edge uses the Longevity low-moisture carpet cleaner for its customers to deliver superior results and comply with manufacturers’ warranties. Inside Edge also sells and distributes this chemistry through its service provider network. Longevity releases soil from the carpet fiber and encapsulates it allowing easy removal through daily vacuuming. Routine maintenance with Longevity Low-Moisture Cleaner allows a vacuum cleaner to act like an extractor by removing harmful soils that can damage the carpet fibers. “We are very excited to earn this Seal of Approval by the Carpet and Rug Institute. The CRI has been in the forefront of testing and certifying carpet and carpet related products and services. This approval program validates the effectiveness of the Longevity low-moisture cleaner and provides our customers with peace of mind” says David Moeller, CEO, Inside Edge Commercial Interior Services. The CRI Seal of Approval program began in 2004 by setting test methods and performance criteria for two categories of cleaning products: spot removers and pre-spray/in-tank cleaning solutions. In 2005, the program expanded to include a significant new element in the testing protocol -- x-ray fluorescence (XRF), a sophisticated testing method that measures the precise amount of soil removed from carpet. Soon, vacuum cleaners –- currently tested under the Green Label Vacuum program -- will be added to the Seal of Approval testing program. Interim extractors and cleaning systems (i.e., the testing of equipment and cleaning chemicals combined) will be added to the testing and certification program at a later date.
