London Designer Sues ABC Carpet & Home

New York, NY, July 20, 2006--The Rug Co., a London-based carpet designer, has sued a New York firm for allegedly selling budget knockoffs of its top-level ware. ABC Carpet & Home, one of America's biggest carpet retailers, was accused in the lawsuit of trying to pass three best-selling Rug Co. designs as its own, The Los Angeles Times said. Christopher Sharp, president of Rug Co., called the action "a type of theft" and formally charged ABC with copyright infringement and unfair trade practices, the Times said.
