Liveris Named Dow Chemical Chairman

Midland, MI, April 3, 2006--Dow Chemical Co. on Monday said President and Chief Executive Andrew Liveris has added chairman of the board to his list of positions with the chemical giant. Liveris succeeded William Stavropoulos as chairman of the board effective April 1. Liveris, 51, has been with Dow for 29 years in manufacturing, sales, marketing, new business development and management. He has spent much of his career in Asia, including as Dow's general manager for operations in Thailand. Liveris was elected to Dow's board of directors in 2004. Stavropoulos, 66, has retired after 39 years at Dow. He was elected to the Dow board in 1990 and had served as chairman since 2000.
