LEED Surpasses 100,000 Certified Commercial Projects

Washington, DC, November 8, 2019-The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has surpassed 100,000 registered and certified LEED commercial projects.

Certification demonstrates leadership and signifies a building has gone above and beyond to ensure it is designed, constructed, operated and performing to the highest level of sustainability. With more than 2.6 million square feet of space certifying each day, millions of people around the world have access to LEED spaces that are reducing carbon emissions and providing healthier environments where they can live, work, learn and play.

LEED-certified buildings are a solution for companies, communities and cities looking to improve quality of life for people while reducing their environmental impact by responsibly managing energy, carbon, water, waste, transportation and materials. The release of the latest version of LEED, LEED v4.1, provides guidance to help the industry continue to demonstrate high performance.
