LEED for Neighborhood Developments Rating System i

Washington, DC, September 23, 2005 -- The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU), and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) are pursuing a joint initiative to develop LEED for Neighborhood Developments (LEED-ND), a rating system to be used to certify new neighborhood development that integrates the principles of green building, new urbanism, and smart growth. The partnership of these three organizations, supported by grant funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Endowment for the Arts, is now seeking a consultant or team of consultants to support the development of LEED-ND, and specifically to help organize the review of comments which will be submitted by the LEED-ND Corresponding Committee, support the LEEDND Core Committee in its revisions and production of a pilot rating system, and develop initial support materials for the LEED-ND Pilot Program. Scope of Work The consultant will be responsible for completing their tasks in close coordination with USGBC staff and the LEED-ND Core Committee. All deliverables must be provided electronically in editable formats and as required by the USGBC program manager.
