Leading Economic Indicators Rise in June

New York, NY, July 21, 2011 -- The Conference Board's index of leading economic indicators rose 0.3% in June.

The index had rebounded 0.8% in May after dropping 0.3% in April.

June’s reading may indicated that the recent slowdown won’t turn into a recession over the next few months.

Half of the 10 indicators that the Conference Board uses in its index showed improvement, four declined, and one was steady.
