Hoffman Estates, IL, January 24, 2007--Sears Holding said Dan Laughlin, 56, its senior vice-president of merchandising, will leave the retailer, where he worked for 35 years.
Laughlin's retirement is the second executive departure announced in the past week. Last Friday, chief financial officer Craig Monaghan resigned after less than five months. Laughlin's departure is effective February 3, the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Sears reported two other executive changes last week. John Walden, a Best Buy Co. executive, was named to the new position of chief customer officer on January 17, a day after Joan Chow left as chief marketing officer of its Sears Roebuck & Co. unit.
