Columbia, SC, August 25, 2006--Ronny Heith Jordan, a regular customer of flooring distributor, L. Fishman and Sons, has been charged with trying to rob the company, according to the State.com.
The 25-year-old West Columbia man, Ronny Heith Jordan, was identified by a witness after the attempted robbery at L. Fishman and Sons on Chris Drive, Sheriff James Metts said in a news release.
Jordan, was identified as a regular customer of L. Fishman.
A witness said a man matched Jordan’s description went into the business through a back door around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday and pointed a .22 rifle at the owner and demanded money, Metts said.
The L. Fishman manager refused to give the man money and the would-be robber ran out of the building, Metts said. The man drove away in a blue Ford Ranger pickup.
A resident later called authorities and reported a similar truck was being driven erratically on U.S. 378 near Chris Drive, Metts said. The truck’s license tag is registered in Jordan’s name, and Jordan was arrested at his home.
