Barnwell, S.C., January, 2006--KronoGroup Switzerland, parent of Kronotex USA, announced a unique licensing agreement with the holders of patents for glueless, click installation, shielding Kronotex customers from patent-infringement lawsuits.
Retailers and distributors of Kronotex laminate flooring no longer need worry about the threat of patent-infringment suits, or, as in some cases, having police remove Kronotex products from trade show displays.
Said Norm Voss, president and CEO of Kronotex USA: "For several years now, many laminate flooring manufacturers, and in some cases their customers, have been subject to patent litigation,” Voss said. “We didn’t think we could expect our customers to continue to face this kind of legal uncertainty. It was upsetting business, affecting the growth of the product line and raising unfair questions about our integrity.”
