Kronotex Intros New Products

Alpharetta, GA, Mar. 8--Laminate flooring manufacturer Kronotex plans to introduce two new flooring products and an expanded collection line featuring 12 hybrid and exotic decors to the U.S. market by May 2004. The new product line up includes an engineered wood product and Parkettex, a finished parquet floor along with new décor additions to the existing Kronotex USA laminate collections. In the past year, Kronotex has made a concerted effort to reinforce its commitment to the U.S. market by expanding its domestic inventory to include products with innovative design versatility and functionality. With these new product designs and innovations, customers will have more choices than ever before in a laminate flooring product. According to Sam Green, Director of Laminate Flooring Sales U.S.A. for Kronotex, “We are committed to the U.S. market and our new innovative flooring products have been developed to provide more quality to our customers from one single manufacturer source.“ Priced at $3.99, per square foot, the engineered wood collection is a totally new laminate flooring innovation for the floor covering industry. The product is a departure from traditional laminate flooring and mimics the look and feel of solid wood. Engineered Wood will feature an embossed-in-registered (EIR) surface with micro-bevel edging on all four sides. The result is a matt finish and velvet touch, which looks similar to real wood, but unlike typical laminate flooring the backside features the identical wood grain in an unstained décor. “With the Engineered Wood product, we are able to offer our customers hardwood floor quality and appearance utilizing the micro-beveled edges, EIR texture and dual-sided wood grain decor, but at a significant savings,” said Sam Green. The product comes in three different plank lengths including 460, 920 and 1380mm per box and is offered initially in two oak decors. Parkettex, a finished parquet floor, adds a new dimension to the laminate and hardwood category by utilizing OSB (11mm) as the core with a hardwood veneer mounting. The product is priced at $3.99, per square foot and is available in a variety of traditional decors including beech, oak and maple in three-plank strips with an oiled or lacquered finish. With Parkettex the benefits of hardwood and laminate are combined in one package by offering consumers easy installation and the strength and durability of hardwood with an OSB core. The product also offers homeowners the opportunity to change their flooring with one sanding to give it a whole new look and feel. In addition to the new innovative product launches, Kronotex is also introducing 12 new hybrid decors throughout its existing laminate collections for a total of 87 SKUs. The new decors include Red Maple, Pecan, Brazilian Cherry and Rustic Oaks and Maples among others, and will be part of the Kronotex USA collection, which utilizes easy-to-install Clic2clic technology. The Clic2clic glueless locking system ensures quick, easy and clean floor installations. Clic2clic also outperforms other glue-free flooring connections with a much higher separation resistance. With this technique, floor panels are tilted, or angled lengthwise, for axial locking, and lowered down and secured short end to short end using the traditional click method of tapping block and hammer from the opposite end of the plank, to achieve a double vertical locking installation. The result is a dual connection that guarantees a secure, long-lasting, extremely durable floor. “The new system was designed according to the consumer demand for a simpler fastening system. The angled installation provides ease in installation, while the end joint ensures a smooth seam between planks,” said Sam Green.
