KB Home to Offer Homes Designed by Martha Stewart

Los Angeles, CA, October 12, 2005-- KB Home, one of the nation's biggest homebuilders, said Wednesday it would start selling a line of homes designed and decorated by Martha Stewart in a bid to tap into the high-end real estate market. KB Home said it would sell a community of 650 model homes located in Cary, North Carolina. The single-family homes, which KB said are "inspired" by Martha Stewart's own homes in New York and Maine, range in size from 1,500 to 4,100 square feet, and are priced from the low-$200,000 to mid-$400,000 range. KB's homes currently range in size from about 1,200 square feet to 3,900 square feet, and average roughly $206,500 in price. Buyers also will have the option of buying Martha Stewart-influenced flooring, faucets, light fixtures, cabinets and other items from KB Home, the company said. The model homes are scheduled to be finished early next year, with plans to introduce them to more communities across the country, KB Home said.
