Karndean Releases CEU on Acoustics

Export, PA, June 3, 2019-Karndean Designflooring, in conjunction with Hanley Wood, offers a new Continuing Education Course (CEU), “Technical and Practical Benefits of Optimizing Acoustics in Commercial and Residential Buildings.”

The course identifies factors affecting acoustic performance and explains acoustic measurements and testing standards, including sound transmission class (STC), Impact Insulation Class (IIC) and Delta IIC (ΔIIC); explains the benefits of improved acoustics in commercial and residential applications; analyzes how flooring systems can help meet acoustic requirements for optimal indoor environmental quality; and examines case studies where integrating acoustic design was a high priority.

The course is available for free online at hanleywooduniversity.com or in-person by a Karndean Designflooring commercial business manager. The course is accredited by the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education Systems-AIA/CES 1 LU (HSW) and the Interior Design Continuing Education Council-IDCEC one credit hour (HSW).
