Karim Rashid Designs Tarkett’s NeoCon Booth

Houston, TX, April 21, 2006--Karim Rashid, a leading figure in the field of interior design, has been commissioned by Tarkett Commercial to design the flooring manufacturer’s booth display for NeoCon. The booth will showcase products from Tarkett’s Azrock line, as well as those available through Tarkett Specialty. It also will demonstrate Tarkett's new ColorWorks system, which ensures that all Azrock by Tarkett products including Milano, Cortina Grande and the brand’s newest product, SolidAir, offer complementary colors and patterns so that products can be mixed and matched for optimal design options. “Tarkett not only admires Karim’s design philosophy of redefining everyday objects, but felt that he was the perfect designer to demonstrate how ColorWorks offers infinite design possibilities and flexibility in creating flooring designs,” said Diane Martel, vice president of marketing for Tarkett Commercial. “Karim also is a proponent of using vinyl, so working with resilient flooring was a natural fit.” In addition to designing the booth, Karim also designed a colorful pattern for ties and scarves, which will be distributed to qualified architects and designers who visit Tarkett booth #7-2122. Karim Rashid will be greeting guests and answering design questions at the Tarkett booth on Tuesday, June 13 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Known for changing the aesthetics of product design and the very nature of the consumer culture, Karim Rashid is a leading figure in the fields of product and interior design, fashion, furniture, lighting and art. He has designed for an impressive array of clients from Umbra to Prada, Miyake to Method.
