Karastan Helps AIDS Charity

New York, NY, March 23, 2006--Peek-a-boo cutouts followed the circular shapes of Karastan’s new Aurora Arctic pattern that was used to carpet all surfaces--floor, walls, inside, outside--of an environment created for the ninth annual Dining By Design gala benefiting the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA). The New York City event raised $500,000, and Karastan was one of scores of home furnishing and luxury leaders sponsoring a table for the worthy cause. Among other participants were G.E., Ralph Lauren, Baker Furniture, Larson-Juhl, W Hotels and Lexus. Wildly imaginative and visually compelling tablescapes were produced, comprising an exhibit staged during the cocktail hour. Then guests found their seats right at the tables amid all the fantasy and razzle-dazzle. Oohs-and-aahs at how cleverly the Os of the circular Karastan pattern were carried out in the shape of the table, seating, chandelier and even the entry were echoed throughout the evening. The event is presented by Elle Dr, and Karastan’s table will be showcased in the July/August issue.
