Jobless Claims Up 4,000 Last Week

Washington, DC, August 2, 2007— Applications for initial jobless claims rose 4,000 to a seasonally adjusted 307,000 for the week ended July 28, according to the Labor Department.

The four-week moving average of new claims dropped by 3,500 to 305,500, for its fourth consecutive weekly decrease.
