Jobless Claims Tick Higher Last Week
Washington, DC, April 3, 2014 -- Initial claims for unemployment benefits edged higher unexpectly last week, according to the Labor Department.
Initial claims increased 16,000 to a seasonally adjusted 326,000. Economists had forecast that claims would rise to 317,000 in the week ended March 29.
The four-week moving average for new claims remained near six-month lows.
