Jobless Claims Fall Slightly in Week
Washington, DC, January 10, 2008—Initial jobless claims fell by 15,000 last week, according to the Labor Department.
The Labor Department said that 322,000 persons filed applications for jobless benefits.
The four-week moving average for jobless claims fell to 341,000, the lowest in a month.
Builders and mortgage lenders are among the housing-related businesses shedding jobs and others are limiting hiring.
