Jobless Claims Fall Last Week

Washington, DC, September 27, 2007-- Jobless claims were off 15,000 to 298,000 in the week ended September 22, according to a Labor Department report.

 

The four-week moving average of new claims for the week fell by 9,750 to 311,500.

 

A year ago, continuing claims and the four-week average of continuing claims were both lower, at slightly more than 2.47 million.

 

Initial claims for the week ended Sept. 15 were revised to a decline of 7,000 to 313,000.
