Jobless Claims Drop Last Week

Washington, DC, November 8, 2007—Jobless claims fell by 13,000 to 317,000 for the week ended October 27, according to the Labor Department. It was the third consecutive week of declines for he measure and its lowest level since October 6.

 

Economists were anticipating an increase to 330,000.

 

The four-week moving average of new claims rose to 329,750 from 327,750.
