J&J Industries Drops Templeton Brand
Dalton, GA, March 9, 2012 - Commercial carpet maker J&J Industries said it plans to discontinue its hospitality lodging carpet brand, J+J/Templeton.
Equipment and personnel will be re-oriented to J&J’s core commercial carpet brand, J+J/Invision. J&J purchased the assets of Templeton Carpets in December 2010 and spent 2011 relocating all assets to the J&J Corporate Campus in Dalton.
“With respect to our Templeton customers and sales agents, we will continue to accept orders through close of business on Friday, May 4, 2012," said CEO David Jolly.
"With our current Templeton order backlog, it will take several months to discontinue our hospitality lodging business.”
Jolly said that the hospitality lodging market remains challenging and typically yields lower profit margins – especially in the guest rooms carpet business.
"Other hospitality sectors, such as
convention centers, casinos, restaurants, and senior living, are areas that
J+J/Invision has extensive expertise, relationships, and current profitable
business that is worthy of increased focus," Jolly said.
The company said that after May 4 it will move to fully utilize its Templeton assets to aggressively grow the J+J/Invision brand and grow sales in the Public Space/Entertainment, Healthcare/Senior Living, Retail, and Corporate market segments.
Templeton has been a well known brand in the hospitalit sector since 1974. Its focus was always public spaces, guest rooms and corridors.
