James Gamblin Retires From Dow Chemical

Midland, MI, Jun. 14--James Gamblin, North American Latex Account Executive for the Dow Emulsion Polymers carpet business, retired from The Dow Chemical Company on May 31, 2004. Gamblin began his career with Southern Latex in Austell, GA in 1960. As the carpet industry grew in the early 1960s, he moved to Dalton. Gamblin became Regional Sales Manager of Southern Latex in 1975. Soon after, Reichhold, Inc. purchased Southern Latex. Gamblin went on to become the Vice President of the Carpet and Upholstery Team in Reichhold, Inc. In 2002, The Dow Chemical Company purchased Reichhold’s carpet latex business, and Gamblin was named Account Executive. Throughout his career, Gamblin has been involved with many community affairs. He was a member of the Dalton City Council for eight years, served on the Recreation Commission and was on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross. Gamblin is also very active in Habitat for Humanity and is also currently the Vice Chairman of the Water Light and Sinking Fund for the City of Dalton.
