Jack Paton, Former Head of Barwick Industries Dies
Acworth, GA, Feb. 20, 2009--Jack Paton, 70, of Acworth, GA, died Feb. 20, after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born July 17, 1938 in Worcester, Mass. In 1956 he graduated from Milford High School in Milford, NH where he was a stellar three sport athlete. He was a member of the Class of 1960 at Columbia University. He served in the U.S. Army, being honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in 1962.
Paton had a successful life-long career in the floor covering business, which began at Masters & Merrill in Everett, Mass and included stints as president of E.T. Barwick Industries, Eagle Carpet Mills, Lotus Carpet and, finally, as Founder and CEO of Paton Industries. He was a consultant at the time of his death. He was active in the Carpet Trade Golf Association..
