Irish Tile Retailer Goes Out of Business

Belfast, Ireland, Dec. 31, 2008--Retailer Tile Market has reportedly laid off all of its workers after being placed in voluntary liquidation.

Reports said that company director Jim McMullan wrote a letter to staff yesterday informing them that the company was unable to continue with their employment.

The letter also reportedly said that the company was unable to make any layoff payments due to financial difficulties.

Tile Market is based in Lurgan, Co Armagh, but has several outlets in Ireland.

It has been in operation for more than 30 years.
