Iran Hosting Hand-Woven Carpet Exhibition

Tehran, Iran, July 15, 2008--The director of Iran National Carpet Center said that the 17th Hand-woven Carpet Exhibition will be held from Aug. 22-28 in Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds.

On the fourth day of the fair the National Festival will be also held which will display the best carpet work of art, IRNA reported.

Annually five million square meters of hand-woven carpets are produced in Iran.

Iran supplies one third of the hand-woven carpets to the world market.

The total amount of exported Iranian hand-woven carpets reached $750 million in 2007.
