Tehran, Iran, October 10, 2006--Iran's exported carpets were evaluated as much as $195, 592,000 in the first half of the Iranian year (Mar-Sep), according to ISNA.
This sum in comparison to the similar period in last year has had a 2 percent decrease.
According to the reports by the public relations of Iran's customs, 22.8 percent of hand woven carpets were exported to the U.S.
Iran's hand woven carpet exports in the Mar-Sep period were evaluated as much as $44,683,000.
The Iranian hand woven carpets exported to Germany were also evaluated as much as $31,371,000.
Also the United Arab Emirates with $17,003,000, Italy with $16,382,000 and Japan with $125,551,000 were next on the export list.
On the whole, the U.S., Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Italy and Japan purchased $125,551,000 worth Iranian carpets in the referred period. These five countries include only 64 percent of Iran's carpet export.
Hand woven carpets were the fifth item on the export list, this year.
They include 2.7 percent of the total non oil export value, in Iran.
