Invista to Increase Nylon Yarn Prices

Geneva, Switzerland, May 11--Fiber maker Invista has announced an across-the-board price increase for its nylon yarn products in the United States and Canada, according to a report from just-style.com. The rise, driven by rising raw material costs, will vary between products with an average hike of ten percent for most fibers. “With raw material costs increasing more than 100 percent in the last 36 months, we must make immediate changes in an effort to mitigate a portion of our losses and improve the long-term health of the business,” Invista Americas vice-president of apparel Kent Smith said.
