Chicago, IL, June 14, 2006--Invista, manufacturer of Antron carpet fiber, debuted its updated Color Point of View (POV) booklet during NeoCon World's Trade Fair.
The 2006 Color POV explores 10 essential color trend indicators-- fashion, technology, entertainment, sustainability, socio-economic, globalization, indulgence, bioengineering, generations and spirituality.
Some of these trend indicators, such as fashion and entertainment, have been influencing color and design for a long time, while others, such as bioengineering and generations, have appeared more recently.
Patsy Kuipers, manager, Color & Styling for Antron carpet fiber, developed the Color POV. "The colors chosen for this year's POV are a reflection of what we're already seeing in the market and that we expect will continue to impact design in the workplace. While the majority of last year's colors were clear and clean, this year's palette is a mix--about half of the colors are bright, exciting and active, while the other half are more subdued, calming and soothing, providing a broad range of choices."
Each category has inspired a palette or family of colors that work together in different combinations. The colors can be used in carpet, as well as other interior products for healthcare, corporate, educational, and government facilities. Each of the 50 new colors is codified to the Pantone color specifier for Architecture and Interiors. Additionally, all colors of Antron Lumena solution dyed nylon and DSDN solution dyed nylon are Pantone codified to help architects, designers and specifiers coordinate interior finishes.
"It's important to keep in mind that although the colors are presented in 10 groups, it is certainly not the only way the colors can be combined. We call it Point of View for a reason--we encourage those who receive the Color POV to explore the colors, mixing and matching them to create new combinations that meet their own needs," said Kuipers.
