Interiors Design Intelligence Takes Off in Houston

St. Paul, MN, April 14, 2006--Grace McNamara Inc., producer of the International Window Coverings Expo, Interiors Expo West Coast, and Interiors Expo Midwest, announced that its new educational event for designers, Interiors Design Intelligence, will visit the first of four cities nationwide in Houston, TX, on May 8–9, 2006. Formerly the WFCP Regional Tour, the redefined and revamped program IDI offers designers a regionally translated view at large-scale global trends. The Trend Specialists of Interiors Design Intelligence will arm the local designer with a break down of international fashions into applicable ideas and uses, including regional demographics and consumer trends. Participants will also leave the two-day session with a customized marketing plan developed and tailored specifically to their business needs. Just as customization is key in the design business, the IDI educational program is customized to suit the professionals it serves. “Physically and financially, designers can not afford to travel the world in search of the information that we are providing with this program, to apply to their business,” says Suzanne Worthley, GMI educational director. “This new show is customized to bring the global trend information, and the products that reflect these trends, to each region of the country. At the same time, Interiors Design Intelligence offers the product manufacturer and fabricator a regional venue to display their product and services, and to meet face-to-face with their customers. Some of these businesses do not offer their services where our larger shows are held, so this intimate venue is an option that works well for them.” CEU and WFCP credits are offered at the two-day event in Houston, which features Portfolio, the Window Fashions Showcases of full-sized custom window treatments, as well as hands--on samples of cutting--edge fabrics, finishes, colors, and materials. Designers will learn what shapes a coming trend and how to convert that information over to their window-covering design. TrendSpot, a showroom of local and national exhibitors, will feature the newest design products, styles, and services. Some of the featured suppliers are ADO Corporation, Graber, Gulf Coast Window Covering, Harmonic Design/Somfy International, Highlite Inc., Jessitt-Gold Interiors, Jaima Brown Home, Kasmir Fabrics, Lady Ann Fabrics, MechoShade Systems, Techniku, and Texton. Interiors Design Intelligence also travels to St. Paul, MN, June 1–2; Hartford, CT, September 11–12; and Fort Myers, FL, October: 5–6, 2006. (www.expoquestions.com)
