Chicago, IL, December 7--InterfaceFLOR has introduced FLOR Groks – a one-of-a-kind, direct-to-consumer, communication tool, which is available on interfaceflor.com. Floor Groks organizes Web-based design information by visually sorting topics in logical, easy-to-navigate groupings.
FLOR Groks are developed and curated by industry experts and notable designers, including renowned Los Angeles designer, filmmaker and writer Eames Demetrios, grandson of legendary Charles and Ray Eames. The Groks feature a wide range of design issues, from design books and prefab modern construction, to "green" materials and the latest trends in design.
Powered by "Grokker" software from San Francisco-based Groxis, Inc., FLOR Groks categorize search results in circular groupings that look much like a painter’s palette – a primary circle represents the central topic and smaller interior circles contain clusters of organized information. Each Grok maps out a large quantity of design-oriented data logically, rather than as a list of random Web sites. Groks on new subjects will be added to the site each month to create a virtual library of design information.

Visitors can explore Groks developed by experts like Demetrios, customize Groks to fit their personal interests, create new Groks by "Grokking" the Web, and e-mail Groks to friends and colleagues.
The online community also features an area called the "FLOR Boards," a series of blogs contributed by Grok curators that explore timely design issues and trends. Other resources include a forum to allow visitors to ask questions, share experiences and discuss FLOR design and installation with FLOR experts, professional designers and other site visitors.
