InterfaceFLOR Debuts Product Made From Ingeo Fiber
New York, NY, Mar. 20-- InterfaceFLOR Inc. has debuted a modular floorcovering made from Ingeo fiber, marking the first time a company has launched a residential floorcovering made from the branded, proprietary fiber. Ingeo fiber is a new textile concept based on a breakthrough technology that allows manmade fibers to be derived from a 100% annually renewable resource, corn. When used in flooring applications, the fiber features the inherent advantages of stain resistance, UV protection, soft feel, vibrant colors and lasting performance.
“It’s only fitting that Ingeo fibers are debuting in a floorcovering option as innovative and cutting edge as InterfaceFLOR tile,“ said Vann Brown, global platform leader for furnishings and carpet for Ingeo fibers. “Ingeo fiber offers performance on par with conventional synthetic materials, yet the raw material to make the fiber can be re-grown every year. Therefore, Ingeo fiber allows consumers to experience a superior product the actually helps lesson their impact on the earth at the same time.”
Modular floorcovering offers consumers, architects, designers, homebuilders and contractors an unprecedented opportunity to transform the look and feel of residential rooms to fit any season, mood or layout. The new flooring system, called InterfaceFLOR tile, is easy to install and maintain, the individual tiles can be washed in the sink, and can be applied on most surfaces including linoleum, vinyl, hardwood or concrete. The 19.5” square tiles are designed to be less wasteful. Individual tiles can be replaced as needed. Used tiles can also be sent back to InterfaceFLOR for recycling.
