InterfaceFlor Cuts Staff in UK

Calderdale, UK, Dec. 10, 2008--InterfaceFlor, based at Shelf Mills, Halifax, says it will lay off staff in the manufacturing, sales and marketing departments of its UK-wide flooring business.

Lindsey Parnell, president and CEO, said: "We are reducing and redeploying staff in line with market demand. It is important that we are as lean as possible and move staff to where the work is.

"Our UK business in real terms has grown tremendously over the last few years. However, as we face an impending recession it is prudent to adjust the business accordingly."

InterfaceFLOR employs 435 people in the UK.

The company said a number of people in affected jobs had been offered jobs elsewhere.
