Interceramic Announces Termination of Its ADR Prog

Chihuahua, Mexico, September 15-- Internacional de Ceramica, S.A. de C.V. has filed a voluntary application with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the New York Stock Exchange to delist its American Depositary Receipts with the NYSE and deregister its securities with the SEC. At the same time, Interceramic has sent notice to Citibank, N.A., the depositary for its two ADR programs in the United States, notice of termination of the ADR programs. Assuming that there are no delays in processing the application through the SEC, the delisting, deregistration and termination of the ADR programs are expected to occur simultaneously on Friday, Oct. 29, 2004. At a series of meetings held on Sept. 7, 2004, the shareholders of Interceramic determined that a number of factors, including limited interest in the ADR programs in the United States and the rising costs attributable to the programs, made the maintenance of public markets in both the United States and Mexico impracticable and not in the best interest of Interceramic shareholders. The company's securities will continue to trade on the Mexican Stock Exchange. Citibank, as depositary, is expected to provide notice to ADR holders in the United States in the next few days to holders, explaining the termination of the program and alternatives available to holders wishing to retain their Interceramic securities.
